Where learners already have the necessary learning assumed to be in place, they can undergo a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Our RPL process provides a quick and effective method of ensuring that learners provide sufficient evidence of their competence for the fundamental unit standards of a particular level of learnership.
We follow a process whereby learners are given guidance on the assessment process, given gap training in those areas of mathematics which are new and are assisted in completing a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) to demonstrate their competence for the fundamental unit standards. They write formative and summative assessments and are also evaluated on their ability to work in groups, deliver oral presentations and competently measure quantities such as length in practical assessments.
The duration of the RPL process is 3 to 5 days depending on group size.
